Brewer, Robyn

As a typical college student in need of cash, Robyn Brewer, a senior from Hendersonville, decided to take charge of her financial situation and become an Avon representative.

She became a consultant in September of this year and in hopes of winning five boxes of free make-up, she entered her YouTube video on how to create smoky but colorful eyes with Avon eye shadow in the Avon Makeup Maven video contest. Quite to her surprise, she won not only the makeup but also a free trip to New York to participate in a makeup master class and to tour Avon's $100 million research & development facility in Suffern, New York.

Now she has a chance to be designated an Avon 2013 Color Brand Ambassador, representing 15 states in the central region, if her YouTube video gets enough votes by Tuesday.

You can view and vote for Brewer’s video at http://www.youtube.com/avonmakeupmaven. Select the “Central” tab and hunt for “Robyn B.” to check out her beauty techniques.

More than 600 Avon Representatives submitted how-to beauty videos for the chance to be crowned one of four Makeup Mavens who will serve as Avon Color Brand Ambassadors throughout 2013.

Sixty finalists, including Brewer, were selected by a panel of judges in New York. The four finalists will be selected by the audience votes on YouTube as well as a panel of judges.

Brewer is definitely excited by the prospect. The American studies major is hoping Avon could be a great employment opportunity after graduation and becoming a Color Brand Ambassador would definitely help her entrepreneurial venture.
