Off-campus dining program offers new option to students

Just as the city is our campus and the world our classroom, the city is becoming our dinner table.
Students now have more dining options as part of a new off-campus dining program launched by Sodexo, Lipscomb’s dining service partner.
“We are excited to offer this new option to the Lipscomb community,” said James Perry, district marketing manager for Sodexo Campus Services. “It offers them more options in addition to the great on-campus options. We have worked with students to select the restaurants that are part of the program. We look forward to adding more in the near future.”
On-campus, Bison Bucks may be used at the university bookstore, food courts located throughout campus (including Common Grounds in Ezell and the Simply-to-Go kiosk in the Nursing and Health Sciences Center) and in the Bison Café.
“The off-campus dining option is something we have worked with our dining services on for some time now,” said Andrew Hunt, Student Government Association president and Lipscomb senior. “Students have had input in the process and in the restaurants that are being offered in the first-phase of this program. If this works well, we will work to add additional restaurants. This program gives students an option to enjoy some of the great restaurants that Nashville has to offer and is helpful particularly to our commuter students.”
The off-campus dining options are offered through the Bison Bucks program, which is a complement to the university’s meal plan options. Bison Café Meals and Dining Dollars may not be used at off-campus locations. Bison Bucks must be purchased separately and are not automatically included in meal plans, except for students living in the Village. Students and employees must have an ID card issued after Aug. 6 to be able to access the Bison Bucks program.
Money can be added by students, their friends and family as well as employees, online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Bison Bucks may be added using credit or debit cards and savings or checking accounts.
Perry said Bison Bucks balances roll over from semester to semester until a student graduates.
