Lipscomb University’s Nashville Business Breakfast will feature Bob Rolfe, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, as the guest speaker on Thursday, July 20.
The breakfast will take place at 7 a.m. in Lipscomb’s Allen Arena. Registration, coffee, and networking will begin at 6:45 a.m.
Rolfe has been the commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development since March 1. Prior to his induction, Rolfe acquired more than 30 years of experience in investment banking and business.
Before becoming commissioner, Rolfe held the position of CEO and chairman, as well as CFO, for Medical Reimbursements of America Inc., a company that provides specialty reimbursement solutions for more than 500 hospitals and health systems nationwide.
In 2011, Rolfe co-founded West End Holdings, a Nashville-based private equity partnership. From 2005 to 2011, he was chairman and CEO of MyOfficeProducts Inc., a $125 million office supplies distributor that he grew and sold.
Rolfe began his career as an investment banker at Nashville’s J.C. Bradford and Co., where he worked for 18 years.
In addition to his career, Rolfe has also served as an active board member for several education, healthcare and community groups.
Rolfe currently serves on the advisory board of Vanderbilt’s Children Hospital. He was previously chairman of the Oak Hill School Board. He has also served on the Cheekwood Botanical Gardens executive committee, University of Alabama College of Commerce Board of Visitors, Harpeth Hall School Board and Currey Ingram Academy School Board.
He received his E.M.B.A. from Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 33 years and have three children. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Nashville, where he has served as an elder for two decades.
