Lipscomb celebrates Independence Day with FREE concert, fireworks

The Lipscomb University community will celebrate Independence Day with its annual free festival featuring the Annie Moses Band in concert and a fireworks display.

Fireworks_2014The festival also features a family picnic, with food available for purchase from Martin’s BBQ Joint, Blue Coast Burrito and Chick-fil-A, inflatable games for children and a period of family worship.

Festival activities and times include:

4:30 p.m.—Free inflatable games for children and a picnic with food available for purchase

• 6:30 p.m.—Family worship featuring singing led by Durant, worship leader Robin Brannon and keynote speakers Landon Saunders and Josh Ross

8:30 p.m.— Concert by the Annie Moses Band, a unique family ensemble that blends fiddle, jazz and classical influences with folk-inspired vocals to create a refreshing sound

9 p.m.—Fireworks display

Activities take place in Allen Arena and the Allen Arena Mall area on the Lipscomb University campus. The festival is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Lipscomb University is a smoke-free, alcohol-free campus.

The Independence Day celebration concludes three days of free family activities at Lipscomb University’s annual Summer Celebration, which combines serious reflection on scripture with practical application, powerful worship and memorable experiences for the entire family.
