Lipscomb University's Institute for Conflict Management offers sessions for Rule 31 Civil Mediation Training, Domestic Violence Training and Family Mediation Training.
As one of the only in-person programs in the Nashville, TN area, Lipscomb's Rule 31 Mediation Training offers participants a in-depth and interactive instruction on mediation in a range of areas. Lead by nationally-recognized instructors, the program is designed to efficiently equip participants with skills they can apply in their professional field. The crossover trainings allows students to be trained in multiple sectors in just a few weekends.

Completion of this course requires attendance of class Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in order to receive a certificate. Friday begins with continental breakfast at 8:15 a.m. and training from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with lunch and snacks provided. Saturday begins with continental breakfast at 8:15 am and training from 8:30 to 5:30 p.m with lunch and snacks provided.
In order to be eligible for this course, you must have completed the Family Mediation training sessions.
The purpose of this course is to enable family mediators to understand and work effectively with the differences in mediating cases where some form of domestic abuse has occurred. Mediators will learn the differences in mediating cases where there has been abuse and the importance of maintaining balance and control in the mediation process
The cost of this 2-day (16-hour) professional course is $835 and includes all materials and meals. Completion of the course requires attendance during both full days. For participants also seeking CLE credit, there will be a special additional fee of $250. Meals and snacks/coffee will be served.

This 2-day course is designed for individuals who have already completed an approved Rule 31 Family Mediation Training and who now want to apply for listing as a Rule 31 Civil Mediator.
This course is interactive with lecture, group exercises and role plays. Areas of instruction include: Effective Communication Techniques, Negotiation Dynamics, Rule 31 Standards of Conduct and Reporting Requirements, Ethical Issues in Mediation, Cultural and Background Factors, Impediments to Settlement, and other relevant topics.
Completion of this course requires attendance of both full days of the training in order to receive a certificate of completion. Each day begins with a continental breakfast at 8:15 a.m. and training from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with lunch and snacks provided.
The cost of the 2-day (16-hour) professional training, which will be held at Lipscomb's Spark Center in downtown Nashville, is $750 and includes all materials, meals, and parking. For participants also seeking CLE credit, there will be a special additional fee of $250. Meals and snacks/coffee will be served.
