Theater Arts at Lipscomb Academy spans the extra-curricular/co-curricular spectrum, with experiences for a wide range of participation levels. Beginning in the elementary and early middle school there are grade level programs that give students the opportunity to have roles of public performance, while involving everyone in some capacity. In the middle and high schools, theatrical productions are staged several times a year, from Shakespeare to Broadway, in our own Acuff Chapel Theater facility, and in collaboration with the Theater Department and Entertainment & Technical Services of Lipscomb University. In addition to Dual credit courses that may be taken at Lipscomb University, the High School offers Theater Arts Classes, plays in the Fall and Spring which include at least one musical, and one-act showcases. We also have an extra curricular Forensics (speech) team which provides individual and ensemble performance opportunities. In addition to these performance opportunities students can also get involved through FAME and SRO (Standing Room Only), the school's drama clubs, and earn membership into the International Thespian Society. Participants include students who are involved in a wide variety of other campus activities.
