From the innovative IDEAL program which brings higher education to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to being the official licensing partner for Teach for America Greater Nashville or the partnership with the Ayers Foundation to create the Ayers Institute for Teacher Learning and Innovation, the College of Education is connecting to hundreds of students and teachers outside our traditional graduate and undergraduate programs.
The IDEAL program at Lipscomb seeks to provide education and career development to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) while encouraging friendships and increased independent skills that lead to a better quality of life.
Ayers Institute for Teacher Learning and Innovation
The Ayers Institute seeks to to equip teachers to improve their classroom performance; to cultivate a state-wide cadre of principals and instructional coaches who promote a culture of effective teacher mentorship in the schools they serve; to contribute expertise and proven models to the dialog on education reform.
Ayers Leadership Fellows
The Ayers Foundation has made scholarships available for these aspiring school leaders, and Ayers Leadership Fellows will be selected from a pool of applicants based on merit and innovative partnerships with their individual school districts.
English for Academic Purposes
The English for Academic Purposes ( Program is for students whose first language is not English and who want to improve academic English for the university.
Pionero Scholars Program
The Pionero Scholars Program, founded in 2015 by Lipscomb’s College of Education with the support of a local charitable foundation, seeks to address the gap between the number of immigrant and refugee students and teachers in our local school district.
