Program Description

The Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in English Language Learning is a 33-credit hour program that prepares instructional leaders to not only teach ELL students, but also to lead programs and professional learning experiences which support high achievement for English language learners. The program emphasizes building strong cultural connections in a school community, developing a targeted curriculum for second language acquisition, and implementing the most effective pedagogical practices. This program emphasizes the value of diversity in the classroom as well as the best ways to serve students from all backgrounds. Candidates will earn an Ed.S. degree as well as an endorsement in English Language Learning PreK-12.

This program can be completed in less than two years and is designed to fit your busy schedule with classes on weeknights, Saturdays and online.

**The University offers a generous 20% In-Service scholarship for current educators and alumni. Financial aid is available to all who qualify and other grants may be available.

The College of Education also offers a Master's of Education in English Language Learning, as well as an English Language Learning endorsement.
