Giuliano Scarsi is originally from Nizza Monferrato, Italy. He earned his bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences in 2003 and graduated in 2007 with a master's degree in Sciences of Natural Systems from Genoa University. With his focus in geomorphology, general natural science and his passion for a sustainable world, he earned a research grant and worked for a year doing research in France, at La Réserve Géologique de Haute Provence, one of the main Geopark networks in Europe. He was in charge of two projects: mapping and creating a database of the main geological sites supported by the Arcview Gis software and cataloging the remarkable trees inside the park. Before leaving Italy in 2013 with his wife, he spent 7 years teaching science at multiple levels in the Italian system. Working in three different countries has helped to develop a great sensitivity for different cultures. As a naturalist and a former basketball player he enjoys being outside, hiking, running and exercising.
