Junior High graduated from David Lipscomb College (now Lipscomb University) in June 1970. He was employed that year as a middle school teacher at Head School in Nashville, Tenn. After 11 years, he became an assistant principal and later a principal, serving the Metropolitan Nashville Public School system in that capacity for 20 years. High retired from the school system in May 2011 and was immediately hired at Lipscomb University in the College of Education. This happened at the same time as he received his Ed.D. from Trevecca University.
He and his wife, Donna, have three married sons and six grandchildren. Having the opportunity to bring a career to the classroom to prepare teachers of tomorrow has been a blessing.
