Kevin A. Clauson is an Associate Professor at Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. Clauson interacts with student pharmacists in courses including health informatics and independent research in pharmacy practice as well as an informatics advanced pharmacy practice experience. He also offers a consumer health informatics elective to students enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or the Master of Science in Health Care Informatics (MHCI) programs. Clauson’s research is focused on digital health, with particular interest in the triad of prediabetes/diabetes, weight management, and sleep. He has published extensively in the biomedical literature, which has generated coverage by sources including the New York Times, CBS-TV, Forbes.com, Good Housekeeping, and BBC Radio. Clauson has also consulted for the World Health Organization, served as a reviewer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Public Health Informatics, and has served his profession as an Item Writer for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX). Recently, he was named to the editorial board of Blockchain in Healthcare Today, in recognition of his work in this field. Clauson received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee – Memphis and completed a Research Fellowship at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
