ENGAGE Youth Theology Initiative

The 2020 ENGAGE summer residency has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

We will be accepting applications for the 2021 ENGAGE Youth Theology Initiative beginning Dec. 15, 2020.  In the meantime, please let us know if you are interested in learning more about the program or would like to participate in online offerings, including lectures, book discussions, or Zoom workshops this fall.

Funded by a generous grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., the ENGAGE initiative brings together rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors from racially diverse backgrounds and churches of Christ.

ENGAGE Youth Theology Initiative

Together students will explore the contemporary call to racial justice and healing, the histories of both the church and the U.S. Civil Rights movement, and what it means to live a life of Christian leadership and service.

Lilly Endowment, Inc. has pledged to financially support the work of ENGAGE Youth Theology Initiative as we launch this brand new program for high school students at Lipscomb University. However, we desire to keep the summer academy going well beyond the life of the Lilly grant. To that end, we are accepting donations from individual sponsors, churches, corporations, and non-profits who would like to partner with us in developing the next generation of theologically minded and socially engaged young people. Your tax-deductible gift will go directly toward the development and sustainability of ENGAGE. We thank you for contributing to this worthy initiative.
