Regardless of a student’s academic destination, the academic journey at Lipscomb University involves the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In fact, every student at Lipscomb will become a part of this college as they move through their graduation requirements. When higher education was “invented’ centuries ago, it began with education in the areas of science, humanities, math, and social science. These areas continue to provide the diverse foundations for a liberal arts education at Lipscomb University. And all of these areas present themselves in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Lipscomb University is proud to host an impressively robust College of Liberal Arts and Sciences whose primary role is to prepare every Lipscomb student with an understanding of the value of a liberal education, critical thinking skills and the ability to embrace innovation and creativity in their lifelong quest for learning. Most importantly, we want to create in our students an awareness of their powerful potential and purpose as a child of God.

No small task. But we are no small college! From students studying journalism and digital media to students preparing for medical careers, to students who will have breakthroughs in biomolecular research and students who will embrace careers as writers, counselors, mathematicians, professors, and social workers, this college is remarkably diverse. From pedagogical excellence to valuable student research opportunities, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is dedicated to the academic and professional objectives of our students. As the college representing the liberal arts platform for higher education, we seek to provide academic agility as we prepare students for academic and career pathways in more than 45 majors found in nine departments. To our current students, we are pleased to contribute to this marvelous journey toward your academic and professional destination!

Take a look at what is happening here. If you have questions–as a prospective student or as one of our alums – please feel free to give me a call directly. We’re busy, but never too busy to add one more story to our journey as the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
