At this level, we focus on the student as a whole - body, mind and soul.
The girls work hard in the gym and in the classroom, and we take time each practice to have a devotional. Our middle school teams are composed of 7th and 8th graders with a wide range of skill levels. Some players participate in volleyball beyond the school season, while others are trying volleyball for the first time. It is our goal to give each player a positive experience while growing their knowledge of volleyball, as well as teaching them how to be a contributing member of a team. The middle school program competes in the Harpeth Valley Conference (HVAC.)
Originally opened in 1979, the first basket made in the Lipscomb Academy gym was by former Lipscomb University president Willard Collins. The full-size court facility was renovated in 1999.
Bleacher capacity: 1500
With the renovation of the human performance weight room located at the Upper School, the enhanced performance center is accessible now for the entire student body. The renovations have expedited our ability to install methodologies based around teaching movement, core strength and proper lifting techniques. Sixteen racks, numerous dumbbell and kettlebell racks and increased space give the athletics program the necessary tools to teach effectively.
