Middle School Baseball

The Lipscomb Academy Baseball program has a rich tradition of winning and development. Our goal for development is not simply what we do on the field but how we mold young men of Christ who will one day be husbands and fathers. The players and coaches compete for each other and glorify God in all we do.

We are a players-first program. On the field, we compete against the best DII AA. September through December, our players have the opportunity to refine their skills during our fall development program, a program including optional workouts focused on long toss, speed and agility. With top-notch facilities, coaching and passion, our players are given the best opportunities to develop their skills and have a chance to compete at the next level.

  • Brad Coon: Head Coach, Director of Player Development
  • Jeremy George: MS Varsity Head Coach
  • Bill Wood: MS Assistant

The field includes renovated dugouts and pressbox, a two-lane turfed brick bullpen, an outdoor turfed cage and development area and a baseball viewing deck located in the left-center field. Slated for completion during winter 2019-2020, new additions to the field include bathrooms and a concession stand.

Reese Smith Athletic Complex

The Reese Smith Athletic Complex, consisting of the McCadams Athletic Center, football stadium and field, Tallent Track, baseball field and a football practice field, is named in appreciation of Reese L. Smith, a Lipscomb friend and contributor. Smith, owner of the Nashville Sounds minor league baseball team, was inducted into the Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame, Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) Blue Raider Hall of Fame and posthumously the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.

Human Performance Weight Room

With the renovation of the human performance weight room located at the Upper School, the enhanced performance center is accessible now for the entire student body. The renovations have expedited our ability to install methodologies based around teaching movement, core strength and proper lifting techniques. Sixteen racks, numerous dumbbell and kettlebell racks and increased space give the athletics program the necessary tools to teach effectively.
