Human Development

The Lipscomb Academy fitness curriculum is a year-round strength and conditioning program designed explicitly for students grades 7th-12th. Through instructional fitness, students are encouraged to use their talents and reach their highest potential in the world of sport and wellness.

As we coach our students to view their bodies as God intended - made in the image of Christ, we hold the student body to the following two standards: Be pleasing to God and be a blessing to your community.

Student-athletes are prepared for competition through instruction from highly qualified strength and conditioning instructors who desire to meet student-athletes where they are and challenge them to set and achieve higher goals. Upon completion of the program, Lipscomb Academy students will realize and understand the dynamics and importance of living a holistic, healthy lifestyle and will leave the academy confident and competent in the world of health and fitness.

Human Performance Weight Room

With the renovation of the human performance weight room located at the Upper School, the enhanced performance center is accessible now for the entire student body. The renovations have expedited our ability to install methodologies based around teaching movement, core strength and proper lifting techniques. Sixteen racks, numerous dumbbell and kettlebell racks and increased space give the athletics program the necessary tools to teach effectively.

Football Performance Center

The addition of new equipment, designed by Sorinex, in the football performance center adds state-of-the-art equipment with cutting edge pieces outfitting sixteen stations that allow us to do more than any other high school in the country. We also have key training pieces like a Swiss Swing--equipment used for reintroducing an injured player back to the field, Power Plate and two Keiser functional trainers that allow us to train rotary movement and power.
