Lipscomb Academy is excited to announce the hiring of Amy Freije as varsity softball coach and the return of Greg Wilder as varsity golf coach effective immediately.

“Amy and Greg are both accomplished athletes and coaches who will make strong additions to the Mustang Athletic Program,” said athletic director Dr. Mike Roller. “I believe both of these coaches will provide excellent guidance in helping our athletes compete and grow in our mission of developing students in Mind, Body and Soul.”

Freije, a decorated softball player, played locally at Ezell-Harding Christian School. During her high school career, she helped her teams to four state championships, was named a High School All-American and won Gatorade Player of the Year. After high school, she received a scholarship to The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Wilder, who previously coached the Lipscomb Academy Varsity Golf Team from 2003 to 2010, returns to the program this season. During his tenure as golf coach, Lipscomb Academy won the 2007 state championship and multiple division and region titles. He and his wife, Dana, have two children who have both graduated from the Academy (Dustin ‘10, Whitney ‘12).
