One of our areas of emphasis over the last several years has been growing our missions program. We now offer eight domestic and international missions trips to Arizona, Baja, Dallas Fort-Worth, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Houston, and India with 134 total participants. Many of these trips will take place over spring break and the summer, so we ask that you continue to be in prayer for teams as they plan for these trips and that their work will have an impact both on our students and everyone they have the opportunity to serve.
This year, we also named Meredith Brocklebank as the Lipscomb Academy Missions Coordinator which enhances the opportunity to continue expanding our missions programs and opportunities for students.
One of the things I love about the Lipscomb Academy Missions Program is providing these opportunities for service at such a formative age," said Brocklebank. "Our students are not only impacting the lives of the communities they are serving, but the experience is greatly impacting their life as well. The whole process of applying, preparing, serving and then reflecting is intentionally crafted to bring about spiritual growth for our participants and getting to be a part of that process is rewarding for everyone involved."
During spring break, mission trip teams will travel to Baja, Dallas/Fort Worth, the Dominican Republic and Guatemala.
"I am so proud that we have students making a decision to use their time out of school to serve and love others," said associate head of school for spiritual formation Dr. Doug Williams. "Missions is a great way for our students to put their faith into action and to see how God is at work in other places around the world. I'm especially looking forward to the stories of transformation and growth our students will bring back to share with their Lipscomb Academy community."
