What is the Lipscomb Academy Global Student Program?

Through our Global Student Program, families from across the world have the opportunity to send their children to our campus in Nashville, Tennessee and take part in our rigorous academic programs. Currently, we have more than a dozen Global Students in our 9th-12th grades representing six different countries.

What's life like for a Global Student at Lipscomb Academy?

Global Students are encouraged and supported to take full advantage of both academic and extracurricular opportunities. From taking part in clubs and athletic teams to meeting together weekly for chapel, our team will work diligently to ensure that students take full advantage of both our campus and the Nashville community.

Host Families

Our homestay program offers Global Students a true family experience during their time at Lipscomb Academy.  Our approved Lipscomb Academy host families are recruited from our school community, screened, trained, and receive ongoing support.  Host families are valuable partners as we seek to serve Global Students.

I have been at Lipscomb for 4 years throughout high school. Gradually, I feel like Lipscomb is not merely a school that I go to. It's a family where we love and help each other. — Thach Do; Senior, Gò Công, Vietnam

Academic Support

Students needing academic support can receive on-campus tutoring in every subject area by highly qualified tutors through our EQUIP program.  Most tutors are certified to teach or have a master’s degree in their subject area. English language support is also available to Global Students.

College Preparation

Through intensive academic and college advising, our team works closely with our Global Students to help students create and work towards long-term academic goals. Not only do we offer nearly 20 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, but our unique relationship with Lipscomb University allows students to enroll in more than 30 dual-credit courses while still in high school. Lipscomb Academy students have been accepted into many prestigious universities.

Short-Term Global Experiences

Students interested in learning more about Lipscomb Academy may participate in our Global Experiences.  Students have the opportunity to shadow in classes, tour our campus, and meet with teachers and students.  This experience is for up to two weeks long, and does not require a student visa.

We also invite international students to come participate in our Summer Experience day camps.  This is a great way to get to know our school and interact with American students. It is also a great introduction to American family life, as students have the opportunity to live with a host family for a week or two.  We offer camps that cater to a variety of interests including academics, arts, and athletics. For more information, visit the Summer Experience website.

Global Partnerships

Lipscomb Academy has partnerships with several schools around the world, including the Haiwang School, Shenzhen, China. Students and administrators from the Haiwang school attend summer and winter camps at Lipscomb Academy each year. Lipscomb Academy students visit the Haiwang School during our Hong Kong/ Shenzhen study abroad course.

This is my third year studying at Lipscomb Academy now, I’ve made a lot of friends that have different culture, language. The Global Student program offers me a opportunity to learn and adapt the environment faster. And it is like another family for me, because all the global students can help each other and share their own experience. The teachers at school are very friendly and I feel really welcome. And it has been a wonderful experience for me. — Michelle Luo, Junior, Guangzhou, China
