Supplying students with the practical tools for life and career through the university’s academic program is at the core of Provost W. Craig Bledsoe’s daily activity as Lipscomb University’s chief academic officer. Since 1997, Bledsoe has boldly led the expansion and innovation of the university’s academic program. Under his leadership, the university has expanded to seven colleges that offer eight bachelor’s degrees in 78 majors or 145 areas of undergraduate study, several pre-professional programs and an accelerated adult degree program as well as 25 master’s degrees, four education specialist degrees and three doctorate degrees in 58 fields of study.
A member of the Lipscomb University faculty since 1977, he earned his bachelor's degree from Lipscomb, a master's degree from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University.
