Kevin A. Clauson, Pharm.D., is an Associate Professor at Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee – Memphis and completed a Research Fellowship at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Over the past 10 years, Clauson has published extensively in biomedical journals and other publications; most recently serving as an editor for Get the Residency: ASHP’s Guide to Residency Interviews and Preparation. He has also presented nationally and internationally on the topics of consumer health informatics, social media in healthcare, and mobile health (mHealth). His research has generated coverage by sources including the New York Times, CBS-TV, Forbes.com, Good Housekeeping, and BBC Radio. Clauson has also consulted for the World Health Organization, served as a reviewer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Public Health Informatics, and has served his profession as an Item Writer for the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX). Clauson teaches in the consumer health informatics and health informatics courses and his student-involved research includes mHealth initiatives such as the use of bidirectional text message reminders to improve medication adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes.
