The U.S. Army’s Forward Surgical Team display—a field medical tent recreating an actual emergency/operating room—will be displayed in Lipscomb University McQuiddy Gym on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The public is invited to visit the display, showcasing the technology, advancement and flexibility of medicine in the military. Military experts will be on site to show and explain the equipment used by first responders in deployed locations or during natural emergencies.
They can also answer questions about the military’s capabilities in a variety of medical fields including surgery, dental, health services and physical therapy as well as questions about how a medical or health-related education can lead to a military career as a physician, dentist, nurse or other medical professional.
The event is sponsored by Lipscomb’s Veterans Services Office, a center committed to helping veterans achieve academic goals with hands-on assistance and personal guidance in a faith-based environment. Scholarship and student loan repayment information will be available at the event.
As one of G.I. Job’s Military Friendly Schools for four straight years and one of Military Times’ Top 25 Best for Vets Business Schools, Lipscomb is a partner in the Yellow Ribbon program, offering tuition-free undergraduate degrees and graduate programs tuition-free or at a significant discount for eligible veterans.
