Lipscomb University is in the top 19 of Best Regional Universities-South category, according to the U.S. News and World Report’s “2013 America’s Best Colleges” guidebook. In 2010, Lipscomb University was identified as one of only 70 schools in the nation named as “Up-and-Coming.” In 2009, U.S. News named Lipscomb’s service-learning program, The SALT Program, as one of 25 “Programs to Look For” in the nation. The 25 listed universities, including national powerhouses such as Duke, Stanford, Tulane and Brown universities, were nominated by university presidents, academic officers and deans across the nation as stellar examples of service-learning initiatives

The 2013 Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges
The 2013 Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green CollegesLipscomb University was selected once again as one of the country’s most environmentally-responsible colleges to be included in the “The Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges.” The guidebook profiles 320 institutions of higher education in the United States and two in Canada that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability in their academic offerings, campus infrastructure, activities and career preparation. To produce this book, Princeton Review partnered with the U.S. Green Building Council, an outstanding national nonprofit organization best-known for developing the LEED green building rating system. Lipscomb was also named in the 2010 Green College guidebook. 2010 Carnegie Foundation's Community Engagement Classification
The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching selected Lipscomb University as one of 196 colleges and universities nationwide to earn its 2010 Community Engagement Classification. This classification places Lipscomb among the top 311 (or almost 8 percent) universities in the nation, including the University of Notre Dame, Cornell, Duke, Georgetown, Pennsylvania State and Syracuse universities. The Carnegie Foundation, through the work of the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education, developed the first typology of American colleges and universities in 1970 as a research tool to describe and represent the diversity of U.S. higher education. The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor RollLipscomb University was listed in the 2009 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll that was released in February 2010. This is Lipscomb University’s third consecutive year listed among schools that show commitment to service-learning initiatives. The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, launched in 2006, recognizes colleges and universities nationwide that support innovative and effective community service and service-learning programs. The Honor Roll is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service, and is sponsored by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, the USA Freedom Corps, and the U.S. Departments of Education and Housing and Urban Development.

This is measured over a meaningful period of time by entering-class statistics, such as GPA, class rank, and test scores. Campus Environment 2008: A National Report Card on Sustainability in Higher Education
Campus Environment 2008Campus Environment 2008 presents the findings of a comprehensive national campus survey conducted by National Wildlife Federation (NWF). This is the second in a series of nationwide surveys designed to track trends and advance knowledge about environmental stewardship, sustainability activities and related curricular offerings in higher education. Lipscomb University was named as one of 65 Colleges and Universities that Lead in Implementing Environmental and Sustainability Studies by Campus Environment 2008. This report lists schools that stand apart in their dedication to bring environmental and sustainability studies to the classroom.
