W.E.B DuBois Honor Society lecture features chamber CEO
The W.E.B DuBois Honor Society is hosting a lecture featuring Ralph Schultz, president and CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. The lecture is free. It begins at 4:30 p.m. in Ezell Center, Room 109.
The purpose of the W.E.B. Du Bois Honor Society is to nurture a spirit of scholarship, to recognize and encourage leadership, to provide service, and to establish the opportunity for a meaningful exchange of ideas as individuals and as a group. We support the self-awareness of the members, promote equal opportunities among all peoples, and emphasize the scholastic advancement of minority scholars.
Our chapter’s goal is to promote academic excellence, to enhance leadership and to facilitate service work in the community. The honor society will honor students of color for succeeding academically, provide incentives to maintain scholarships and encourage others to travel on the same path. Students will be nurtured by faculty and staff and will interact with students from various disciplines. Throughout the year, members of the honor society have the opportunity to engage with local city and government leaders as well as benefit from group outings and leadership training.
