Deby K. Samuels
Vice President, Communication and Marketing

Deby Samuels joins University Communication and Marketing as its vice president for marketing and communication, a newly created position at the university. A 1972 Lipscomb University graduate and most recently vice president of marketing communications for AmSurg Corp., Samuels brings a broad range of communications and marketing experience to the position including leadership roles in both the agency and corporate environments.

Samuels graduated with a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. She has more than 30 years’ communications experience. Since coming to the Nashville market in 1980, she has served as director of marketing for Comdata as well as in creative and executive positions with The Buntin Group advertising and Dye, Van Mol & Lawrence (DVL) public relations, each among the area’s leading communications agencies in their respective areas.

Samuels’ professional and civic involvement includes past and present board positions with the CABLE women’s networking organization, the Nashville chapter of the American Marketing Association, the YWCA, Room in the Inn, and the Wayne Reed Christian Childcare Center. Kimberly E. Chaudoin
Assistant Vice President, Communication and Marketing

Kim Chaudoin joined the University Communication and Marketing staff in August 1991. Chaudoin serves as project manager for the design and production of university publications; leads the development of media relations programs, strategic communication and crisis communication; and assists in general writing, in addition to leading the University Communication team.

Prior to joining the Lipscomb staff, Chaudoin was marketing associate with Deloitte & Touche in Nashville, where she specialized in internal communications programs and advertising. In addition, Chaudoin was selected by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) to be part of the official communications team covering sporting events during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. She covered Olympic competitions in table tennis, team handball and weightlifting for ACOG.

A member of the University & College Designers Association, Chaudoin was appointed as a founding member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities' Communication Commission in 2006. She is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America and of the Tennessee College Public Relations Association (TCPRA), for which she has served as president and treasurer. Chaudoin was awarded the TCPRA Charles Holmes Award for her service to the field of public relations. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science-communication from Lipscomb University and a master of science degree in public relations from Middle Tennessee State University. Kyle R. Gregory
Senior Coordinator of Digital Services

Kyle Gregory joined the University Communication and Marketing staff in May 2006. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in communication from Lipscomb University, and is currently working on a master of science degree in mass communication at Middle Tennessee State University. He is the manager for the design and maintenance of the university website. He also a consults the office in the use of new trends in communication and the media in addition to training the university community on the web content management system. Kristi A. Jones
University Photographer/Digital Imaging Specialist


Kristi Jones joined the University Communication and Marketing staff in August 2007. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from Lipscomb University with a major in art and a minor in marketing. She is the lead photographer for the university publications. She brings with her over twenty years of experience in photography. Stacey C. Lusk
Office Manager

Stacey Lusk joined University Communication and Marketing in 2011 as Office Manager. She previously worked in the university's Office of Campus Life as well as the University Library. A native of Atlanta Georgia, Stacey has three children, two in attendance at Lipscomb University and one at Lipscomb Academy. Lauren S. Mabry
Graphic Production Specialist

Lauren Mabry joined the University Communication and Marketing staff in November 2010. She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design from Abilene Christian University. Will Mason
Manager of Design Services

Will Mason joined the University Communication and Marketing staff in January 2006. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design from Lipscomb University and a master of arts degree from Savannah College of Art & Design. Jeff Siptak
Director of Creative Services

Jeff Siptak joined the University Communication and Marketing staff in May of 2011. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin and brings more than 25 years of advertising agency experience to his role in the department.
 
Siptak began his career at Tracy Locke in Dallas, where he worked as writer on a variety of accounts, including Pepsi-Cola, Dillard's and Frito-Lay. Since moving to Nashville in 1990, he has been vice president, creative director at Powell Creative, as well as senior writer at Ericson Marketing Communications, where he produced work for Gaylord/Opryland, United Way, Murray Mowers & Bicycles and Ruby Tuesday. Janel R. Shoun-Smith
Media Relations Manager

Janel Shoun-Smith joined the University Communication and Marketing staff in June 2006. She holds a bachelor of science in communications from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and is pursuing a master's degree in corporate communication from Austin Peay State University. A seasoned reporter, Shoun-Smith has worked for several newspapers including the Naples Daily News in Florida, the Andalusia Star-News in Alabama, the Nashville Banner and the Tennessean's Williamson A.M. Shoun-Smith develops media relations strategies for promoting university news and events and builds relationships with media throughout the country. In addition, she is responsible for developing a hometown news release program, faculty expert resources and general writing for the university in addition to other responsibilities.
