Why THSPA exists . . .

• to provide a forum for students who are interested in
journalism and student publications.

• to offer opportunities to network with other members of
the association.

• to provide an educational opportunity for high school
students in Tennessee by hosting speakers
and small group workshops.

• to emphasize journalistic writing and coverage in student
publications.

• to maintain the student press as an instrument published
by students, for students.

• to conduct contests and workshops to encourage greater
efforts from students and advisers to produce quality
publications.

• to reward and promote excellence in
high school student publications.
