Andy Flatt has served in his current role as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for HealthSpring, Inc. since 2006. Previously, he served as Chief Information Officer for AIM Healthcare Services, during which time AIM was recognized for early large-scale Internet Protocol (IP) telephony adoption and ranked #1 globally for the largest Window’s based online transaction processing (OLTP) database in 2005. Mr. Flatt’s 28-year career includes serving in technology management roles at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. As co-founder of MIQS, Inc., Mr. Flatt pioneered the early use of electronic medical records, which garnered recognition for MIQS as a Smithsonian Award Finalist in 1998 and later as a Laureate Award Winner in 2009 by Computerworld. Mr. Flatt began his career as a software developer of business and clinical systems for Dialysis Clinic, Inc. and served his alma mater, Lipscomb University, as an adjunct faculty member from 1992 – 2000.
Mr. Flatt is the chair of the Lipscomb University Information Technology Advisory Board, member of Lipscomb University Business School Alumni Board, member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and board member of the Tennessee Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (TN HIMSS). Past appointments include the Board of the Nashville Technology Council, acting as elected Board Chair from 2009 – 2011, Executive Summit Governing Body and Medic (now Misys) Advisory Board.
In addition to being named a Power Leader in technology by the Nashville Business Journal in August 2011 and 2012, Mr. Flatt was honored at the Nashville Technology Council’s 2011 Awards Gala as both CIO and Volunteer of the Year for his success and leadership within the technology industry and Nashville community.
