Cathleen Burrell is passionate about improving the sustainability of the supply chain and logistics operations across the globe. She began her work as a Multi-functional Logistics Officer in the US Army and after two deployments to the Middle East left the Army to continue her education and passion for efficiency and common sense leadership.
Her love for the waterways and care of the planet began in her hometown of Virginia Beach, VA where she watched the Chesapeake Bay degraded by transportation and manufacturing operations. She has seen the tremendous recovery that occurs here with groups such as the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Lynnhaven River Now and works diligently to connect business, community, and government to drive change in our world. She is committed to restoring health and vitality to the people, the planet, and the businesses that support them in an effort to leave this Earth a better place for our children’s children.
She holds a BA in English from the University of Michigan, a MBA in Operations from Norwich University, and will graduate from Lipscomb with a MS in Sustainable Supply Chain Management in August 2011. She has worked as a Financial Analyst in Logistics for Mars, Inc. and currently serves as a Distribution Center Process Manager for W.W. Grainger in Chicago, IL.
