Executive Director and Assistant Professor

Galbreath brings over 29 years of experience to the Institute for Sustainable Practice (ISP). As the founding director, he leads one of the nations first academic sustainability programs. While serving two former governors of different parties, Galbreath led efforts to implement a nationally recognized wetlands conservation plan; to create one of the nation’s first environmental justice plans; guided passage of five legislative proposals to manage competing water allocations and transfers and designation of the first state scenic river in 25 years. At URS Corporation, one of the nation’s largest engineering design firms, he provided sustainability consulting services to trade associations, the Department of Defense and development projects. Galbreath currently specializes in green infrastructure for water management, climate change, the relationship between faith and sustainability, leading workshops and giving conference presentations.

 

Dr. Sandra Dudley
Professor and Academic Director

Dr. Sandra Dudley serves as the Academic Director for the Institute and teaches environmental engineering courses. She is also the Executive Director of the Water Authority of Dickson County and the Managing Member of Meadowview Engineering, LLC.  A previous employee of CH2M HILL, Eastman Chemical Company, and Martin Marietta Energy Systems, she holds a B.S. in chemical engineering, an M.A. in education and a Ph.D. in engineering from Tennessee Technological University.  Dr. Dudley's doctoral research focused on biological wastewater treatment and she has more than 20 years of experience in operations management, wastewater treatment, air emissions control and permitting, expert witness testimony and engineering project management.  She is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Tennessee. Dr. Dudley was honored by Tennessee Technological University as the first female to receive the prestigious Engineer of Distinction award. She is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the National Council for the Examination of Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES) Chemical Engineering Committee. She has led engineering mission teams and is active in the Walnut Street Church of Christ and Relay for Life. She enjoys gardening, fitness, charity walks, cooking, Sudoku, teaching Bible classes and reading for pleasure. Dr. Dudley lives on Meadowview Farm with her yorkshire terrier, Gigi.

 

 

 

Aileen Wark Bennett 
Program Coordinator   

Aileen Bennett serves as program coordinator for the Institute for Sustainable Practice. In this role, she assists prospective and current undergraduate and graduate students with the admissions process, advising and registration. Bennett provides academic and professional guidance by helping to connect students to the community through internships and opportunities for professional and personal growth. She also oversees communications, marketing, media relations and social media efforts. Bennett worked at a public relations and advertising agency in Nashville before coming to the Institute. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in political science from Belmont University, and is currently working on a Master of Science degree in mass communication from Middle Tennesee State University.
