James Vandiver is part of the ministry staff of the Harpeth Hills Church of Christ where he works with Older Adult Ministries and is the Director of the Harpeth Hills Resource Center on Aging. He served as President of the Tennessee Association of Homes and Services for the Aging from 2001-2004. From 1997-2000 he was Director of Community Relations for LifeTrust America, a senior services company involved in Assisted Living throughout the Southeast. At LifeTrust, he was responsible for creating and advancing community partnerships among healthcare, religious, social and civic organizations on both local and national levels. He also focused on issues involving ethics and corporate culture. Prior to that he served three congregations as pulpit minister: Westwood in McMinnville, TN (1963-73), Hendersonville, TN (1973-86), Harpeth Hills, Brentwood, TN (1986-1997). Following seven years in the aging and long-term healthcare field, he returned to the staff at Harpeth Hills in 2005.
James is a native Nashvillian and a graduate of Lipscomb University. He did graduate work at Vanderbilt University in Speech Pathology and at George Peabody in Education.
