Chapel at Lipscomb
We truly believe that the communal pursuit of God is one of our primary callings as followers of Jesus. Chapel exists to provide consistent and intentional spaces for the Lipscomb family to commune with God through prayer, worship, and the study of His Word.
Ask. Seek. Knock.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” -Matthew 7:7
These words from Jesus reflect our pursuit this year. Our hope is to grow in our knowledge of God’s love as we ask, seek, and knock for His presence and wisdom, knowing He is more than willing to give His Holy Spirit to those who ask.
The Gathering is a time when our entire campus comes together for worship in Allen Arena on Tuesdays. Our goal is to proclaim the message of God through challenging speakers and a variety of creative expressions. This large gathering also gives the opportunity for ‘community moments,’ where we recognize notable events and people from the Lipscomb family.
Breakout chapels give a more intimate opportunity for students to come together in smaller venues across campus with specific but differing way to pursue God. Each Thursday, students can choose between one of the following opportunities:
Worship Chapel, Series Chapel, Theater Chapel, Hymn Chapel, Men’s, Women’s, Global Learning, and more are available to our students each week!
All full-time students are required to get 30 chapel credits each semester. 25 of those credits come from regular chapel assemblies and five credits can be earned by completing service hours. Students with only Monday, Wednesday and Friday classes are required to get only 15 chapel credits, all of which can come from service hours. Part-time students are not required but encouraged to attend chapel.
