Lipscomb Academy’s Bible curriculum purposefully intertwines the story of God with the story of each individual life. We intentionally blur the line between the biblical story and our story because we believe we are living God’s story today. Thus, the biblical story is what has come before us and what gives our lives, or stories, meaning.??
In the formative years of pre-K through 4th grade, teachers integrate the biblical story into every subject and period of the day in addition to regular Bible studies. In the 5th and 6th grades, teacher place the Biblical stories within their historical context and students are encouraged to begin seeing themselves as a part of that story. In 7th and 8th grades, as students are beginning to make serious life choices, they are encouraged to explore their role or purpose within God’s story. Then in high school the movement from 9th grade to graduation is; 9) Jesus’ life as the model for mine, 10) developing into the likeness of Christ, 11) pursuing God’s plan for me, and 12) owning my faith – What does the future hold?
