MLK Joint Day of Service
2012 MLK Joint Day of Service was a success! It was wonderful to see such a diverse and motivated group of students and community members volunteer. We were honored to have Congressman Jim Cooper attend and address the group. In our efforts to grow closer to the “beloved Nashville community”, we had:
- 224 volunteers from 4 area universities and the community served at Feed the Children and The American Red Cross
- Boxed 46 pallets (roughly 1840 boxes) of non-perishable food
- Packed 500 Hygiene and personal care boxes, restocked 2 disaster supply trailers
- Inventoried health and safety supplies
- Prepared 3,000 Comfort Kits
