SALT: Serving & Learning Together
SALT [Serving and Learning Together] is an academic service-learning program designed to enhance the educational experience of undergraduate students at Lipscomb University. Through the SALT Program, students have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular projects that will impact the community, connect academic ideas they are learning in the classroom to real world experiences, help them develop marketable job skills and network with professionals in the community.
Students can choose from projects of varying intensities that focus on issues ranging from homelessness to literacy to hunger. From business students organizing and executing a career workshop for at-risk youth in the community to education students working in local schools to promote literacy, we are working to incorporate service-learning into every discipline at Lipscomb.
