David Lipscomb Elementary Science Lab
"Tell me, I forget; Teach me, I remember; Involve me, I learn."
The David Lipscomb Lab began in 1998. It is predominately used as a hands-on science facility. Curriculum-based learning is taught in the classroom with concepts and information being reinforced with hands-on labs.
Labs for each grade level are based on the current science curriculum that is used in the classroom. All areas of science are covered with special consideration being given to the scientific method. Each grade level builds upon the concepts that have been learned the year before.
PK students come to the lab once every two weeks.
K5 - 4th grade students are scheduled bi-weekly.
All grade levels also have hands-on experience with the garden. They study plant science in depth while growing vegetables and fruits.
The lab is staffed by science lab coordinator Ginger Reasonover along with volunteer parents.
