**Notes to August graduates: August graduates participating in May need to use this check sheet during their last two semesters. Graduates taking Maymester and/or summer courses are considered August graduates. To participate with the May class, August graduates must fill out an Intent to Graduate form before Spring semester. An August graduate must register for the August section of GN 999X in the spring semester, submit a completed petition form (available on Graduation website) by February 15, and complete required the senior survey on myLipscomb. August graduates must also register for GN 999X-01 summer--the term they actually complete all of their work.
______ 1. Register for the graduation course (GN 999X) the semester you intend to graduate. This course is for zero hours credit and it does not meet in a classroom setting. Lipscomb Email is used as the communication tool between the Graduation office and the graduate to submit paperwork and receive information about graduation. The charge for the class is the graduation fee which is charged to your account one time--the semester you actually graduate. After registering for the course, submit an Intent to Graduate form to the Registrar's Office if you have not already submitted a form. (Form is also available on myLipscomb.)
______ 2. Check with the Registrar's Office the semester before you graduate to be sure you have met all requirements for graduation--i.e. will have 132 hours completed; have 2.00 GPA overall; transcripts for all transfer work on file, etc. Also meet with your department chairs the semester before you graduate to be certain you have completed all courses required for your major(s) and minor(s) and have a 2.00 GPA in both your major(s) and minor(s). You can also run a GradMap Degree Evaluation on myLipscomb to see your progress toward graduation. Click here for instructions on how to run a GradMap.
______ 3. Click here to go to Jostens website: http://college.jostens.com/
jostens/?affiliateId=1077136, where you can order invitations, name cards, class rings, etc. for graduation. Jostens is normally on campus in October for December graduation and March for May graduation at our GRAD Finale event. ______ 4. Complete required Senior Survey(s) on myLipscomb the semester you graduate. The survey is available on Lipscomb myLipscomb during the last month before graduation day. Click here to check graduation calendar for dates the survey is available.
______ 5. If you have taken courses required for graduation at another school, check with the Registrar early during the semester to be sure your transcript(s) has(have) been received. If not, diligently pursue the school(s) until transcript(s) is(are) received by the Registrar.
______ 6. Mail graduation invitations two or three weeks prior to graduation.
______ 7. RSVP to your Provost's Breakfast invitation. Vote for song leader, faculty sponsor, etc., through myLipscomb. Check myLipscomb calendar to see when balloting will be available.
______8. Pay all bills including telephone and graduation fee, turn in library books, have exit interview with Financial Aid if necessary, pick up cap and gown beginning the Tuesday before graduation day.
______9. Take all final exams required by your major department (major field exams, education majors--NTE exam).
______10. PASS ALL YOUR COURSES MAKING SPECIFIC GRADES IF REQUIRED.
