This was the College of Pharmacy’s first year to participate in Lipscomb University’s Service Day. The Pledges of the Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc., along with many members of the College’s faculty and staff, volunteered their afternoon at Radnor Lake State Natural Area. We mulched trails and picked up trash throughout the park. This day provided a wonderful opportunity for the College of Pharmacy to work alongside Lipscomb’s undergraduate students while serving the Nashville community.
Standing at the bottom of a trail that wound its way up what seemed like a mountain, made the task ahead seem impossible, but everyone came together to get the job done. Some of the pledges, faculty, and staff filled wheelbarrows full of mulch with pitchforks and shovels, while everyone else stationed themselves at intervals along the trail and relayed the wheelbarrows all the way to the top. It only took a couple of hours to get the entire trail done! We were all exhausted at the end of the day, but we were so proud of what we had accomplished together.
