Lipscomb University has a rich history in preparing students to be leaders and servants.  The Doctor of Pharmacy program at Lipscomb strives to continually challenge student pharmacists academically through an innovative, integrated curriculum model designed to train tomorrow's pharmacy leaders. You can be confident that instruction will be provided by experienced practitioners and that you'll have lots of active, hands-on learning opportunities.  Distinguishing aspects of the program include:

 

♦ Leadership Emphasis
Leadership is emphasized in our management courses for healthcare delivery, institutional management and practice management.  Leadership opportunities are offered through involvement in student pharmacist professional organizations.  Regardless of the environment you ultimately choose to practice in, you'll have the foundation necessary to lead those around you. 

 

♦ Integrated Biomedical Science Laboratory
This laboratory brings the basic sciences to life by taking a multidisciplinary approach.  Learning is maximized by conducting experiments designed to emphasize fundamental concepts discussed in the classroom impacting drug discovery, delivery, disposition and response.

 

♦ Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences
The knowledge you gain in the classroom about community, hospital and specialty practices are applied in these setting beginning the second week of class your first year.  The diversity of affiliated sites includes CVS Caremark, HCA, Healthspring, Kroger, Marcrom's Pharmacy, Publix, Reeves-Sain Drug Store, Target, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Walgreens, and Wal-Mart.
