Seventeen students from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy received Post Graduate Year One (PGY1) residencies during the most recent residency recruitment period. Twelve students matched during the ASHP Resident Matching Program and four other students received positions during the scramble for residency positions. One student received a position prior to the match. These students received positions at a number of institutions including Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Veteran’s Affair Health System in Ohio, Centennial Medical Center, BlueCross and BlueShield in Chattanooga, Maxor Correctional Pharmacy, Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Saint Thomas Hospital, Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, HCA Corporate, Yakima Memorial Hospital in Washington, Sullivan University/Central State Hospital in Louisville, KY, Northshore University Healthsystem in Chicago, IL, and Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL. Also two graduates who are completing PGY1 residencies received Post Graduate Year Two (PGY2) residency positions in pharmacy informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a Psychiatric pharmacy practice residency at Rolling Hills Psychiatric Hospital. Another student will be beginning the second year of a fellowship with Rutgers University.
The College of Pharmacy is very proud of the success our students had in securing residencies. The College is committed in promoting the goal of a residency for our students. The College is proud to offer five residency positions this coming fall and will continue to develop new programs for future students who have the desire to continue their training with a residency.
