The College of Pharmacy Class of 2014 officially began the journey toward the Pharm.D. degree with this fall’s white coat ceremony. But they began preparing for this endeavor in the spring.

All 77 student pharmacists attended the mandatory August orientation. In between the serious sessions on academics, the transition into a professional program, and technology, student pharmacists enjoyed learning about the expectations and curriculum for the semester.

The event ended with an evening of food and fellowship while touring the Parthenon and picnicking at the Centennial Park pavilions.  Student pharmacists, faculty, and staff participated in a variety of activities that allowed for relationships and connections to be made throughout the evening.

"Fall orientation is an exciting time for the entire college to welcome our new students into our college family.  While orientation is an important time to receive information, it is also about getting to know people who will become your family for the next four years, perhaps for the rest of your life.  It's a great start to a year that will bring new challenges and wonderful memories," said Dr. Paige Akers, Associate Dean for Student Affairs.
