One of the highlights of Lipscomb students in engineering is the opportunity to travel to places like Guatemala, Honduras, or the Dominican Republic. These are not just sightseeing trips. The students actually design and build structures that are important to the local population. In 22 trips since 2004, students have constructed such things as bridges, radio towers, and water systems. Planning for 2013 has begun and has attracted over 30 students and alumni who have already committed to go.

Faculty coordination is being done by Dr. Kerry Patterson in Mechanical Engineering. The Raymond B. Jones College of Engineering has undergraduate programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil & Environmental Engineering. All majors are encouraged to participate in the global service. The College has also recently started a Master's program in Engineering Management. See http://www.lipscomb.edu/engineering
