Lipscomb University's Department of Cinematic Arts presents a lecture by Brett Dismuke, Monday, March 6 at 6 p.m. in Swang 108.
Dismuke, president of The Swirl Group and previously Moguldom Entertainment, has more than 20 years of marketing, production, sales and branding experience. Dismuke has worked for Motown, PolyGram Group Distribution, Hollywood Records, UrbanWorks Entertainment, First Look Studios and Image Entertainment.
The Department of Cinematic Arts, housed within the College of Entertainment & the Arts, studies filmmaking with a hands-on approach. The department connects students with industry professionals through opportunities such as traveling to Cannes, France, for the Cannes Film Festival, the world's largest of its kind. Recently, Lipscomb introduced Tennessee's first MFA in filmmaking, and last year, launched a BFA in film production. Consistently working on feature films, video promotions, commercials and web series as part of every day student life, this department is the place to be for those who are serious about creating a sustainable career in the film/TV industry.
