Lipscomb's Department of Visual Arts welcomes Glexis Novoa, one of Miami's most prominent and well-known artists, as part of its Visiting Artist Program on Monday, Jan. 30, at 6:30 p.m. in Ward Hall. This event is free and open to the public.
Novoa was born in Cuba in 1964, and spends half his time working in Cuba and half in Miami. Since the late 1980s, he has produced art in many different media, including painting, performance, installation and, most recently, graphite drawings—the material that has become his trademark.
Novoa will lead a workshop with art students the following day. His lecture will also be filmed by the Department of Cinematic Arts and made available online for other art educators to enjoy.
