The John C. Hutcheson Gallery presents an exhibit by photographer Jeff Rich. His work, The Watershed Project, will be exhibited October 2-29.
Rich's work focuses on water issues ranging from recreation and sustainability to exploitation and abuse. He received his MFA in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design. Rich's project "Watershed: A Survey of the French Broad River Basin" was awarded the 2010 Critical Mass Book Award and was published as a monograph in 2012. Along with being exhibited internationally, his work has been featured on Flak Photo and as one of Daylight Magazine's monthly podcasts. Rich is an assistant professor of Art and Art History at the University of Iowa and curates the weekly series Eyes on the South for Oxford American Magazine.
Rich will host a talk in the Hutcheson Gallery at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5 with a reception to follow.
