Leaves and Literature: A New England Journey
The Lifelong Learning Travel Series presents an Alumni and Friends Tour of New England with retired Lipscomb professors John and Jill Parker. Leaves and Literature: A New England Journey will offer the best of New England’s fall foliage, American history and homes of American authors.
The trip will feature tours of the homes of Mark Twain, Louisa May Alcott, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Harriett Beecher Stowe, Edith Wharton, Henry Wadworth Longfellow, Henry Melville and Emily Dickinson. Participants will also visit Walden Pond, Newport, R.I., the Rockwell Museum featuring American art, The House of Seven Gables in Salem, Mass., and other historic sites.
Cost: $2950 (Airfare not included)
There is an optional pre-trip class included in the price that begins on September 10.
