He has given lectures or presentations on art at the University of Tennessee; in Bonn, Germany; at the South Eastern College Art Conference; and at Texas A&M University.
He earned an MFA from The University of Georgia in Athens in 2008 and a BFA in painting from the State University of New York at Buffalo, N.Y.
The John C. Hutcheson Gallery in the James D. Hughes Center opened fall 2010. Curated by Lipscomb art department faculty, the Hutcheson Gallery features a variety of exhibitions each semester.
