John D.Hutcheson Gallery talk and reception: Angela Burks
Throughout the month of January, Lipscomb University Art Department presents works by Angela Burks, beginning Thursday, Jan. 9, in the John D. Hutcheson Gallery (located in the Hughes Center). A reception and talk by the artist will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, in the Hughes Center. (Dates are subject to change.)
Burks earned her MFA from Tulane University and her BFA from Middle Tennessee State University. She has served as faculty at Tulane, MTSU, Western Kentucky University and Motlow State Community College. She has shown her work in Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky.
The John C. Hutcheson Gallery in the James D. Hughes Center opened fall 2010. Curated by Lipscomb art department faculty, the Hutcheson Gallery features a variety of exhibitions each semester. This gallery provides an opportunity to study, exhibit, stimulate appreciation for and advance knowledge of works of art that collectively represent the broadest spectrum of human achievement and artistic interests.
