Lighting of the Green

Lighting of the Green is in the past.

Lipscomb University kicks-off the holiday season Tuesday, Dec. 3, with an all-star line-up of artists at the ninth annual Lighting of the Green concert.

Nashville’s own Amy Grant hosts the free outdoor holiday concert, which also features the Lipscomb student choruses and many exciting special guest stars.

Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and the concert begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Allen Arena Mall on the Lipscomb campus. Pre-concert activities include free photos and free hot chocolate and cookies. Food is available for purchase at the Bennett Campus Center’s Food Court, including Chick-Fil-A, Papa John’s Pizza, Blue Coast Burrito, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Zebi’s and Starbucks. The event will also include Merry Marketplace, a collection of holiday vendors with a portion of the purchases benefiting scholarships to Lipscomb. The Marketplace will take place in the Allen Arena lobby and concourse beginning at 4 p.m.

The evening will wrap up with the lighting of a 30-foot tree in the Allen Arena mall.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a gift of canned food or cash for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Guests are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the concert. Handicapped parking will be available in the Allen Arena parking garage.

The event will be held rain or shine. For more information call 615.966.6609.
