Rear Admiral Scott F. Giberson, assistant surgeon general and chief pharmacy officer for the U.S. Public Health Service, will speak at the Conversations of Significance event held by Lipscomb's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Thursday, April 25, at 2 p.m. in the Ezell Center's Paul Rogers Boardroom.

The talk is free and open to the public.

In his role in the U.S. government, Giberson leads U.S. pharmacy professional affairs, advising the Office of the Surgeon General and the Department of Health and Human Services on the recruitment, assignment, deployment, retention and career development of pharmacists in the U.S. In addition, he leads all operations, personnel and response of more than 6,700 officers of all health professions within the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service. These positions allow him to directly affect the nation's health within clinical and public health issues on a national perspective to improve patient care across the nation.
