Anna Carter Florence, the Peter Marshall associate professor of preaching at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, is the headline speaker for the 2013 Preaching Workshop with the theme “Language for Interfaith Dialogue.” This 40-person, three-day workshop provides preaching enhancements for the seasoned minister through sessions designed to connect theory and practice. Each attendee is expected to preach before peers and presenters and digest sermon critiques.
Florence graduated from Yale College in 1984 with a degree in History and Theatre Studies, and then went onto Princeton Theological Seminary for an M.Div. and Ph.D. Her books include Preaching as Testimony and Inscribing the Word, and she is a frequent teacher, preacher and lecturer in this country and abroad.
